Jen POWERS, Executive Director

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner, Making Sense of Your Past (Worth)® Facilitator

With over 25 years experience as an elementary school teacher, children's pastor, parent educator at The Children’s Home of Cincinnati and respite coordinator at Butler County Educational Service Center, Jen has a passion to see families come alive. She believes strongly in the powerful role parents have in loving and leading their families well. 


Gail Cicak, associate director

Nationally Authorized Common Sense Parenting® Trainer

Gail has over 15 years of experience building into people - both in business relationships and individuals through her volunteer work and biblical counseling practice. Gail has a heart for all families to have hope and thrive. Gail brings a wealth of wisdom and discernment in the vein of spiritual support for parents who wish to pursue personal growth and healing to operate as their best self for their children.


JULIE HELLYER, director of parent education

Nationally Authorized Common Sense Parenting® Trainer, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner

Julie Hellyer has over 10 years of former experience as the early childhood pastor at Northstar Community Church working with children and caregivers from a variety of different backgrounds and family dynamics. Julie is passionate about equipping parents, promoting effective communication and facilitating deep connection to create safe and secure homes where families grow and thrive.


amy carlisle, event and marketing manager

Before joining the Tried & True team, Amy worked as a family peer support specialist for parents of children with behavioral, mental health and/or learning disabilities. There, she built relationships with families from underserved communities to help them connect with resources, remove barriers and gain self-sufficiency. She's also served as a volunteer in preschool and children's ministry for nearly two decades. An adoptive parent and former foster parent, Amy believes in helping parents be the best they can be for the sake of their children. We are thrilled to have Amy join the T&T team!


COURTNEY Schreiner, TRUST BASED RELATIONAL INTERVENTION LEAD TRAINER

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner, Making Sense of Your Past (Worth)® Facilitator

As a licensed Social Worker with her Masters in Social Work, former intern with City Gospel Mission and nearly 10 years tenure caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in Mexico and India with Back2Back Ministries, Courtney has a heart for seeing children overcome hardship to become all they were intended to be. Courtney brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and gifting around trauma-informed care to Tried & True.


NATASHA HOWARD, COMMON SENSE PARENTING LEAD TRAINER

Nationally Authorized Common Sense Parenting® Trainer

Natasha has 10 years of experience working with children as a former elementary educator and junior high ministry leader at her home church, Rivers Crossing.  She has a heart to provide hope, encouragement, and support for parents and remind them that they are never alone in their season of parenting.


SARA RIEBESEL, REGISTRATION AND OFFICE MANAGER

Sara Riebesel has 10 years of former experience as an elementary teacher.  She has served in the children’s ministry at Northstar Community Church and has administrative experience as a volunteer at The Care Center, one of Tried & True’s partner organizations.  Sara is passionate about family (including her own!), enjoys working on a team and loves offering support and encouragement to those around her.

After 35 years in corporate Human Resources, Shawn now enjoys traveling with her husband and friends and spending time with their children and grandchildren. She has been serving on the Back2Back Ministries board for 10+ years. Shawn has a desire to share her experiences to aid in growing healthy children and families.


james lenhoff

James has spent the last 22 years helping hundreds of families navigate the emotional and relational challenges they face when it comes to their finances. He is the author of Living a Rich Life: The No Regrets Guide to Building and Spending Wealth, as well as the host of The Rich Life Podcast. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ and Life Coach. James has been married to his wife, Amy for over twenty years. They have three kids. Max, Wes, and Mia. He spends much of his free time in ministry at his church, including financial literacy education programs, men’s ministry, and mission work in Haiti.


ALLEN SELLARS

Allen has spent much of his life serving local and global communities. He was previously involved in local non-profits "The Hand Up Group" and "Harvesting Hope" in central Kentucky, as well as having served in eight different countries to-date across Africa. He has four boys (Aidan, Ashton, Avery and Zach), one of whom was adopted through his previous non-profit work. Allen currently also serves as the Board Vice-President of The Father's House, serves actively in his church and is also deeply engaged in men's ministry in his community.


Erin Zink

 
 

Erin has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for 30 plus years serving children in a variety of settings including Shriners Hospitals for Children, Early Intervention through the First Steps program in Kentucky, and school-based OT with a local school district, where she continues to serve.  She also serves children and families in their homes through her private practice, OT4HOPE.  She has a passion to support children and their caregivers through therapeutic interventions and education in the areas of sensory processing, regulation, and play.  Erin and her husband Randy have four children, Kaleb, Eli, Gabby, and Aiden.  They have walked through the foster care and adoption journey with their youngest son and have seen and continue to see God's knitting of stories together throughout their parenting journeys. Erin is a Tried & True alumnus, advocate, panel guest, and longtime partner of Tried & True!
